Privateer Press Events at MechaniCon 2010

In addition to running demos for Privateer Press games, our local Press Gangers are teaming up to bring us the High Noon and Highlander tournaments at this year’s convention.

Saturday, November 6 – High Noon (cuz that’s when it starts)

This will be a mixed Warmachine and Hordes event. Registration will begin at 11 am and dice will roll at noon.

Army Lists:
Army list point totals cannot exceed 50 points and cannot be less than 48 points.

Players may bring a second army list containing a different Warcaster or Warlock for use at the event. Both lists must be from the same faction and are subject to the above listed point constraints. Mercenary players may use different contracts for their two lists.

Rules:
This event will use the most current version of the Steamroller 2010 rules found here: http://privateerpress.com/company/steamroller-2010-update

This will be a swiss style tournament.

Turn and Match duration will be timed according to the Steamroller 2010 rules.

Painted armies are not required but are greatly encouraged.

Prizes:
1st, 2nd and 3rd place players will receive Steamroller trophies. Placing will be determined by overall Win/Loss record, then Strength of Schedule and finally total control points. There will also be a prize for best painted army. Only fully painted armies will be eligible for this prize.

Sunday, November 7 – Highlander (or There Can Be Only One)

This will be a mixed Warmachine and Hordes event. Registration will begin at 10 am and dice will roll at 11am.

Army Lists:
Players will use only one list for this event. Army list point totals cannot exceed 35 points and cannot be less than 33 points. Players are only allowed 1 warcaster, 1 unit, 1 solo and may not duplicate warjacks.

This will be a swiss style tournament.

Returning for it’s second bare-knuckled, elbow-droppin’, eye-gouging year is the Philly Fall Brawl 2010! 3 action packed rounds of hard nosed BloodBowl action! This will be a NAF Sanctioned LRB6 tournament. Details available soon at the Philly Fall Brawl website.

St. Valentines Day Massacre

St. Valentines Day Massacre is a new Warhammer 40K tournament that is part of Games Workshop’s new North American Tournament Circuit. The event will be hosted by Showcase Comics and the BigGunz-NE club at the Granite Run Mall in Media, PA. This will be the first major event there, not including the past ‘Ard Boyz Regionals that have been hosted by the store. Showcase Comics was a sponsor of our event last year and the least we can do is help promote this event now.

The St. Valentines Day Massacre event will welcome 80 players for Warhammer 40,000. There will be 5 games played over the last weekend of February. Look for the rules packet later this week in the public section of their forums (no registration is required).
